
Back in Control - A Female Perspective
While gender does not necessarily impact the ability to understand and be financially independent there are some specific factors in some households which females need to be mindful of. Whilst some of these are changing, they are important. Females have tended to be paid less on average, they have tended to be out of the workforce for a period raising family or caring for loved ones. They have tended to outlive their partners and with the divorce rate increasing for over 50s, face a reality of managing their own finances for a longer period.
